The delegation comprises SIA Vice President Mary Thornton, SIA Director of Global Policy Jennifer Meng and leaders of U.S. tech giants like Intel, Marvell, Qualcomm, Global Foundries, Cirrus Logic, Infineon, and Ampere Computing.

Prime Minister Pham welcomed the SIA delegation to Viet Nam and spoke highly of the efforts and initiatives by President and CEO John Neuffer and SIA to help Viet Nam develop the semiconductor industry and bring SIA member companies to Viet Nam.

He said that Viet Nam continues efforts to maintain macro-economic stability and peaceful environment, implement three strategic breakthroughs regarding institutional and administrative reform, infrastructure development and human resource development to create a favorable investment environment for foreign investors to do long-term and sustainable business in the Southeast Asian nation.

He revealed that VIet Nam will adopt support policies for investors in science-technology, innovation and semiconductor industries.

The Prime Minister took the occasion to call on American enterprises to further expand investments in Viet Nam in such fields like semiconductor, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

He also called on American enterprises to assist Vietnamese partners in joining the global supply chain, promoting investment in infrastructure and establishing training facilities and R&D centres for semiconductors.

Pham also suggested the SIA voice its support for the U.S. Government to further promote its relations with Viet Nam and recognize Viet Nam as a market economy, and lift restrictions on high-tech exports to Viet Nam.

In reply, Neuffer highly valued Viet Nam's energy and enthusiasm for the semiconductor industry, promising to continue cooperation with Viet Nam in developing this industry.

Viet Nam has become increasingly important partner for the U.S. semiconductor industry, said the SIA President and CEO, adding that he will continue to return to Viet Nam to consolidate and strengthen the Viet Nam-U.S. relations./.
