China came second with an export value of US$4.6 billion, but it was the only major market to record high growth of 25.2 percent.
Viet Nam's trade with the rest of the world was estimated at US$63.15 billion in January, a month-on-month decline of 11 percent and a year-on-year decrease of nearly 4 percent.
The above figure includes US$33 billion in export value, down 7 percent against the previous month. Domestic and FDI sectors contributed 29 percent and 71 percent of total export turnover, respectively.
Electronics, computers and components, mobile phones and accessories, and machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts were among items with export turnover exceeding US$1 billion each.
Last year, trade between Viet Nam and the U.S. surpassed US$132 billion, with Viet Nam's exports to the U.S. worth nearly US$119 billion, marking a 23.3 percent increase year-on-year./.
