Pham made the above statement while addressing the strategic dialogue on Viet Nam in Davos, Switzerland on January 21. The event drew the participation of the World Economic Forum's Head of Regional Agenda for Asia-Pacific Joo-Ok Lee and leaders of 60 companies that are the members of the World Economic Forum. This is the 4th country strategic dialogue jointly held by the World Economic Forum and Viet Nam.

The 350-kph railway will stretch 1,541 kilometers, connecting 20 cities and provinces, namely Ha Noi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thua, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

The project will have total investment capital of around VND1,713.5 trillion (US$67.6 billion).

The construction of the first sections from Ha Noi to Vinh city in central province of Nghe An and Nha Trang city in the central province of Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City is expected to begin in late 2027.

The remaining section from Vinh to Nha Trang is scheduled to begin in 2028-2029.

Viet Nam also plans to kick-start the construction of a railway project linking with China, central Asia and Europe in 2025; complete the construction of a nuclear power plant in five years; and strive to increase the total length of expressways to 3,000km by the end of this year, Pham announced.

He went on to say that the Government will continue to give priority to boosting growth in association with maintaining macro-economic stability, controlling inflation, and striving to achieve GDP growth of at least 8 percent in 2025.

Also in 2025, the Government will also focus on advancing workforce development, particularly high-quality human resource for such emerging fronts like semiconductor chip, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things among others to meet requirements of investors and to improve productivity, stressed the Prime Minister.

The Government has deployed a program to train 50,000 semiconductor engineers and pledges to ensure sufficient power supply through developing wind power, solar power, nuclear power and electricity imports, he added.

He called on partners and investors to continue cooperation with Viet Nam in priority areas in various aspects, from policy formulation, attraction of high-quality investment, infrastructure development, transfer of advanced technologies, and modern governance building./.
