The Vietnam Vegetable and Fruit Association (VINAFRUIT) estimated that Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports will top 5.5 - 5.6 billion USD, which is a new record, in 2023.
Vietnamese fruit and vegetable exports to the Chinese market during the first eight months of the year saw an increase of 133.6% to US$2.26 billion on-year, representing triple-digit growth, according the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Vietnam's fruit and vegetable industry achieved a record of export growth in the first 7 months of this year, bringing in USD3.23 billion, up 68.1% over the same period last year. With the current growth rate, it is forecasted that in the remaining 5 months, fruit and vegetable exports will reach from USD2.5-2.7 billion, according to the Import and Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) said in a recent article that a number of fruits grown in Vietnam have successfully entered high value and challenging markets.
As fruit and vegetable exports to China face difficulties, many Vietnamese enterprises have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to invest in systems and processing plants to sell their products in Europe and the US.
