Four foreign suppliers not yet complete tax registration

The department of taxation of large enterprises under the General Department of Taxation (GDT) has recently announced that four foreign suppliers conducting business in Vietnam through e-commerce digital platforms have not yet complied with regulations on tax registration through the GDT’s e-portal.

Foreign suppliers pay nearly 8.7 trillion VND in taxes this year

A total of 120 foreign suppliers have registered, declared, and paid taxes worth more than 8.68 trillion VND (341 million USD) through the General Department of Taxation (GDT)’s e-portal this year, up by 26% year-on-year and 74% compared to the annual target.

Personal income tax revenues exceed full year's target in 11M

As of late November, personal income tax revenues reached around VND170 trillion (US$7.3 billion), surpassing full year's forecast by 6.9 percent, according to the General Department of Taxation.

Tax sector fulfils nearly 95% of state budget collection target

The General Department of Taxation on November 7 reported that the total state budget collection of the sector in January – October was estimated at over 1.4 quadrillion VND (55.18 billion USD), or 94.8% of the annual projection and up 16.3% against the same time last year.

The General Department of Taxation has asked local tax authorities to review and make lists of retailers selling through livestreaming on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Tiktok to carry out risk-based inspections.

Foreign suppliers pay US$161 million of tax in nearly 7 months

From January 1-July 15, as many as 103 foreign suppliers registered, declared and paid taxes worth VND4.039 trillion (nearly US$161 million) through the electric portal for foreign suppliers, reported the General Department of Taxation.

Tax sector sees 10.7% rise in State budget revenue in four months

Total State budget collection in the first four months of this year was estimated at 640.29 trillion VND (25.20 billion USD), equivalent to 43% of the yearly projection, representing a year-on-year rise of 10.7%, according to the General Department of Taxation.

State budget collection reaches 24.3% of 2024 projection in two months

The total State budget revenue in the first two months of 2024 reached over 361.67 trillion VND (nearly 14.67 billion USD), equivalent to 24.3% of the projection for the whole year, and 112.9% compared to the figure recorded in the same period last year, the General Department of Taxation reported on March 1.

Focus on budget collection in the sprint period

According to the General Department of Taxation (GDoT), domestic revenue in the first nine months of 2023 was 76.3% of the ordinance's estimate. This revenue represents a significant challenge for the entire Tax sector in the final months of the year. To complete the assigned budget collection task, Mai Xuan Thanh, Director General of the GDoT, has directed the entire sector to focus resources on drastically and effectively implementing tax management, timely collecting tax sources arising into the State budget, and emphasizing combating tax loss.
